Tracing Cards into Your Journal

For this journal page, I printed the Ace of Swords and Ace of Wands from the Free 78 Tarot Cards in Black and White set (for download here). If you don't have a printer, you can do what I do and make printouts at your local library. I even made some new Tarot friends while there!

If you're using a PC, you should get an option to print your image via the Windows Image Viewer, like this. Choose 3.5 x 5 in., and uncheck "Fit picture to frame" --

Next, cut out your card image. You can then simply glue it into your journal, OR if you want a more hand-drawn look, tuck the printed card behind your page to trace it. Sketch over the image with a pencil, ink it in with pen, and color with colored pencils or markers.

I like cheap artwork, so I use what I have laying around the house, including kids' art supplies and highlighters!

Fill in the details you want to keep. I chose not to frame in my cards nor keep the "Ace of Wands" text.

You can do this with any downloads on our site, and it adds a nice hand-drawn look to your journal without having to perfect drawing.
